en weeks traveling between old me-
Tdinas, mountains and deserts.
Morocco is made of grazing light that
filters overbearing and magnificent in
the middle of tarpaulins suspended
between buildings, among the noisy
markets that lie in the heart of the old
medinas (so are called the oldest parts
of the city) and it is a separate univer-
se of sounds and colors.
Its markets are its true soul, almost
palpable: the souks with the spices, the
carpets and the various goods that are
found in the narrow lanes of the an-
cient cities are the most magical there
can be for those who arrive there, as in
my case, from the old continent where
this bazaar magic has long been lost -
if it ever existed! - with this profusion
of sounds, smells and sparkles. Last
winter I decided it was time to visit
this country that had always attracted
me: I had always traveled to the east,
visiting countries like India, Nepal,
Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia
and many other places in Asia. After
ten years of traveling to the East it
was time to change and I decided to
carve out over ten weeks of time to
explore the country far and wide,
Fez tannerie chowara Maroc from north to south and very slowly,
savoring landscapes and places and
moving slowly , with only public

e luoghi e spostandomi in modo
lento, con i soli mezzi pubblici a
disposizione. Attraversandolo
ho scoperto un paese accogliente,
coloratissimo e legato a tradizioni
secolari che su di me esercitano
grande fascino.
L’architettura di quei luoghi poi,
