uniTy of The androGyne
The work presented here was
the subject of an exhibition
experience within an artistic activity of
the D.MOD design and contemporary
arts laboratory in the city of Mestre.
The work was aimed at creating
a cycle of sculptures that focused
on reflection around the theme of
Platonian androgyne. Two hollow
faces, four figures decomposed in the
same body, a double head, become
the representation and expression of
the power of unity. A classic setting of
the figure instead had to accentuate
the solemnity of the image and the
elaborate content. Unity understood
as aggregation, as a dialectical
process, or a process that generates
physical and psychic force, a force
that transforms and forgets the origin
of the individual. It is a terrible force,
as it was said in ancient Greece, of
great vigor and power that wanted
to conquer the Olympus of the gods,
